Slinger Signaler Course
Designed to provide candidates with theoretical and practical knowledge to safely lift loads using overhead and mobile cranes.
Course Objective:
On completion of training, the trainee should be able to:
- Pay attention to the relevant safety regulations
- Inspect and select the correct lifting equipment for various loads
- Accurately sling, lift, move and lower into position loads of various weights and shape
Course Content:
- Slingers responsibilities under the health and Safety act 1974
- Inspection and selection of lifting equipment and the sections of the factories act 1961 relating to lifting equipment
- Safety regulations applicable to the use of cranes and slings
- Safety requirements for the use of lifting equipment
- Advantages and disadvantages of various lifting techniques
- Inspection requirements for lifting equipment
Duration: 1 to 3 Days dependent on experience
Ratio: Maximum of 6 trainees per Instructor per crane |
